Director of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA), Majid Mollanoroozi, said “the first edition of Tehran Art Fair will be held internationally with the attendance and cooperation of the private sector as well as prominent world art galleries in the next Iranian calendar year (to begin on March 20)."
“The event pursues the policies and programs of art economy and cultural diplomacy as well as strengthening artistic interactions with participation of the private sector and the presence of Iranian and foreign galleries,” he added.
Mollanoroozi went on to maintain “the event will be held in view of the opportunities and international links that have been provided in the field of art as well as the potentials of art economy.”
“Also, Tehran Biennial, as a prestigious international event, will be planned and launched with the participation of the private sector next year in order to create an opportunity to present achievements and new ideas of Iranian and world artists in the field of contemporary art,” continued the official.
TMoCA director concluded his remarks by commenting “capacities and opportunities have been provided for Iranian art to run international communication that can help to strengthen and enhance the international status of Iranian art and we hope to implement effective programs with collaboration of artists, galleries and the private sector.”
